In December 1969, Italian railwayman and prominent anarchist Giuseppe Pinelli “fell” from a fourth-floor window in a Milan police station. First staged not long after his death, the play shows the revolutionary Maniac infiltrating the police office, masquerading as an examining magistrate who has come to re-open the case and investigate the official versions of how the anarchist-suspect came to end up as “jam sponge”.

The recently late Nobel Laureate Dario Fo has created a sharp and hilarious satire on police corruption. This revenge farce is packed full of fake news - as relevant today as when it was first staged over forty years ago.
